Features to know about

Get More Out of Every Trip: Class III Strength with 3,500 lbs Capacity

This hitch gives you the solid utility you need for daily use or weekend adventures. With a 3,500-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 525-lb tongue weight rating, it’s made to handle small trailers, campers, boats, or loaded cargo carriers. The 2" x 2" receiver works with the most common towing and accessory setups so you can swap between racks or mounts without adapters.

Built to Last: Powder-Coated, Fully Welded Steel Construction

The hitch is fully welded for maximum strength and a precise fit. The gloss black powder coat finish is applied over a protective base coat to resist rust and corrosion. It’s co-cured inside and out for added longevity, so even road grime and moisture won’t wear it down quickly. That tough coating also keeps the hitch looking clean after years of use.

Clean Look Under the Bumper: Concealed Main Body Design

The concealed cross tube keeps the receiver tucked up under the bumper for a factory-style appearance. Only the square receiver is visible, giving your setup a tidy, low-profile look instead of hanging hardware underneath. It’s a great option for anyone who wants strength without sacrificing style.

Straightforward Installation: Bolt-On, No Welding Required

You can mount this hitch using the included hardware—no drilling or welding needed. The vehicle-specific design lines up with factory holes, making alignment easier and ensuring a snug, proper fit. It’s ready to take on bike racks or towing duty once bolted in place.

The hitch was well made and I put it on myself. An excellent and easy fit on a Hyundai Tucson. Having another set of hands would have made it faster, but it went on beautifully

High-five on the install, Dennis! I also agree having another set of hands there to help can make the install faster and easier. What are you going to be using the hitch for?

The hitch for my Hyundai Tucson worked as advertised. One person installation, about 30 minutes, and not a lick of trouble with it. The hitch supports a very robust bike rack and easily supports two e-bikes. It was a smart buy and continues to perform very well.

by:

Could not have been easier to install. I did it al by myself without even lifting the car up. From getting tools out, to cleaning up after took less than an hour. This is my 3rd hitch from etrailer and I wont buy from anywhere else. 2026 Kia Sportage HEV Prestige.

by:

Ordered trailer hitch for Hyundai Tucson, fit is perfect. I like the way it’s kind of hidden under bumper.

by:

Very easy to install, remove small trim piece and screw 6 bolts into pre threaded holes in car frame. Helpful to have two people for install but could be done with one person and a jack stand.

by:

So far, so good. Two of us installed in about an hour+
Feels secure and our Thule rack fit right in the receiver
Glad to have the installation guide, everything was pretty accurate
Neither shop I spoke with will install the trailer hitch if you buy the part yourself. That wasn't clear from the eTrailer website, that installation only applies when the shop buys the part and marks it up, then charges for labor. Not a knock on the shops, just a note that it could be clearer on the website.

by:

Installed on a 2025 Kia Sportage SX-Prestige and is extremely easy to install.
I did have to downgrade the rating due to poor and sloppy welding of the chain loop which interfered with the installation of the Curt Easy Mount Bracket C58001 for the wiring connector.
The weld was fully on the outside of the loop, nothing on the inside of the loop as shown in the pictures.
Need to do a cleaner weld along that line instead of the big glob of material.
Only other issue is that the hitch sits right up against the bottom of the rear bumper cover so it will rub over the course of time so now I am looking for some clear protective film to install on that spot.

by:

fits perfectly, I'm shocked!! great quality.
For
future buyers - you can use jack to lift the hitch effortlesly. You dont need extra pair of hands.

by:

Got this for my wife’s Kia Sportage hybrid. Removed one plastic panel under the back and bolted the receiver on, the frame has welded nuts inside from the factory. Line it up, put the bolts in, torque and check it. The fitment was great. Took about 45 mins total from opening the box to being cleaned up. Probably less is you don’t have a 5 year old ‘helping’ you.

by:

It was great to find this hitch that matched our vehicle perfectly. It was just installed yesterday and we look forward to many uses from bike racks to camping with our kids. Thank you to everyone at etrailer and how easy it was!

by:

As others have noted, the shipping box did not fare well, but the hitch was packaged securely inside and had no scratches or dings. Perfect design and fit and really nothing complicated about install. Looks great on the Sportage. I've never owned or installed a hitch before, but I managed. I was surprised by new Kia special hex pins instead of nuts holding the panel on and those aren't easy to get off, needed to pick up a cheap set of panel tools. I highly recommend a motorcycle lift to hold into place as it took quite a while to get the last couple bolts lined up to thread.

For a first timer, the install looks great. Love the pug hitch cover! Do you have any pet pugs?

by:

Watched the installation video and watched as 2 guys, using a lift, installed the hitch in about 15 minutes. I had no lift and, by myself, managed to install it, while lying in my driveway, in under an hour. Easy peazy. Anyone can do it.

by:

This Hitch fit perfectly on our 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL , Installation was easy. Shipping seemed very fast. Like other reviews have said the boxes are not packed very well as there are holes when receiving. Not a big deal some of the coating came off one corner. Very happy ordering from etrailer.com .
I wish there was plug and play harness for the lights, none available as of now.

Well designed, easy Installation. I wish they would come with a plug and Play wiring harness for my 2025 Hyundai Tucson.

by:

Good looking hitch. Easy to install even for a 70+ year old.
The u-tube videos helped a lot. Hitch could be packaged more securely, but the bolts and instructions were all taped to the hitch.

by:

The box came with a little damage. Not much. I gave them a four versus a five because I feel they could package the ends with packing material to protect it in case it comes through the box. It did mark up the paint. My fear is that that will be a spot for it to rust.

This was the hitch for my 2025 Hyundai hybrid Limited. It took me approximately an hour. Very easy. I dropped the back skid plate as mentioned, I did not have to drop the Muffler. I did take the plastic cover off on the passenger side so that I could get better access to the bolts with the torque wrench. Overall, very easy job to do. I would recommend having a helper.

High-five on the solo install, Alan! What are you going to be carrying on your hitch?

by:

2026 Kia Sportage Prestige.
45 mins total.
Took me and my brother 20 mins to install the hitch. The additional time was for cutting the first plastic piece you take off. We cut it in half (took a couple cuts to get the size right) and reinstalling it on each side of the hitch opening. I wanted to keep the under carriage, where the sensors are, as covered as possible from snow/salt in the winter. Only issue was getting the plastic snap pieces back in place. The plastic cover on the side you have to take off, didn't seem to be as secure when putting it back on. Not sure if they are one and done after you take them off. May have to buy new ones from Kia.

The trailer hitch went in without a hitch. Everything worked out great no surprises. There were a few scrap marks on the hitch where you can’t see it not a big deal. The box was a little bit ripped up, but that wasn’t a big deal either. Thanks again for all the information And the great product you put out. Have a great day.

I really like the hitch now that it's all installed - it was not too difficult but I wish they would have made the video a little more concise as it was a bit of a chore to get the hitch into place.
2023 Hyundai Tuscon PHEV Limited - I'm sure it could be done with 2 moderately strong guys, as it was, it took me (with RA on hands, wrists and body,) my wife and another woman to help in the middle (after getting the hitch in place properly.) We had some trouble getting the hitch (passenger side of vehicle) past the muffler and flush with the frame where the bolts mount to. I wish I could say how we finally accomplished it, but we had to be patient and keep manipulating both ends (from side to side[wheel to wheel] and backwards and forward [front of car to back of car]) until we got it into place. By then, we were both tired and needed a third person to lay down in the middle and hold the center up (like she was bench pressing it) while my wife and I each put one bolt on each end. From there it was easy to finish.

Btw, sorry if I annoyed in the (), as I was only trying to be absolutely clear for some to understand.

Overall, it's a great looking hitch at a great price. It also had the best video instructions that I was able to find for a good price on a brand name hitch.

Great products and competitive prices. Quick shipment. Super helpful videos which I really appreciate. In the last several years I have purchased 3 trailer hitches and a rear hitch mount bike rack from etrailer and all have been great with great communication, quick shipping, and good follow-up. This particular hitch purchase only took about 15 minutes to install thanks to the very detailed video.

i decided to try to install this myself on my wife’s 2025 tucson hybrid. i removed the underpanel - those strange attached plastic nuts required me to pull down on the plastic in order to get enough tension to loosen them, so the panel would release. i found out very quickly on my back under the car that i should have been bench pressing about 100 lb for the last few weeks - i did not want to drop the exhaust on a brand new car and i couldn’t get it past the exhaust without help. luckily a neighbor saw me with a 70 lb piece of steel resting on my chest and offered to help. it turned out that even after i got it past the exhaust, there was a small lip of steel on the chassis that prevented me from getting the hitch aligned with the screw holes. i only saw this after moving my head to the other side of the exhaust - thanks again to my neighbor for holding it in position - once i got the hitch above the exhaust i had to pull it slightly towards the front of the car to get it off the lip. i think this must be obvious if you are installing it from behind the car, but this wasn’t visible if you are under the car with your legs under the trunk. i did have to remove that side panel to get enough clearance for my socket set on that side (same issue with the aforementioned strange built in plastic nuts). all is installed and looking great - this hitch matches the finish of the tucson very nicely and almost all of it is hidden except for the receiver. will be used to tow our bikes on the Benton shifts and grins carrier that i am told just arrived! overall this was a little harder than i thought - i saw all those videos of people doing it themselves on jacked-up cars - but if you are doing this in your driveway i recommend (as do the instructions) to phone a friend to help for a couple of minutes.

Thanks for the word of advice! Glad you have some good-natured neighbors too, Peter - not everyone has one! :) Thank you for sharing your experience and the photo! What will you be using the hitch to tow now that it's all installed and ready to go?

by:

Product has been installed for 1 year now - 2025 Kia Sportage. There was some alignment finesse required to get the last bolt started but otherwise a good fit and position relative to the bumper for a bike carrier. That is the only usage so far. Picture shows after partial winter in OH, so some road salt exposure but most of this winter was in FL. Would definitely recommend this product from my experience.

1 year later completely satisfied with the Curt hitch. It appears to be of high quality and well painted. The only ding is the hitch arrived sticking out of the shipping box in several places as other reviewers have mentioned. Fortunately there was no damage but was surprised it wasn't packaged better.

Installation was not that hard. Was a bit tough lining up 2 of the horizontal frame bolts but a floor jack under the hitch applying pressure solved that.

Highly recommend modifying and not discarding the splash gaurd that has to be removed. The gaurd is there for a reason as it protects proximity and other sensors behind the bumper from road salt / water. Modified mine with a grinder cutting around the 3 front clips so it could slide under the hitch. Was able to then reinstall it after the hitch was installed as you can reach under the hitch to push up the gaurd's front clips.
